The Caribbean Association of Pharmacists (CAP) CODE OF ETHICS has been adopted by TPSTT

  1. A Pharmacist uses his/her knowledge for the wellbeing and safety of the client.

  2. A Pharmacist must respect patients’ rights to participate in decisions regarding their care and must provide information in a way that it can be readily and easily understood.

  3. A Pharmacist treats all clients with courtesy, respect and maintains confidentiality of information.

  4. A Pharmacist acts in the interest of patients and other members of the public, at all times.

  5. A Pharmacist upholds the reputation of, and public trust and confidence in, the profession.

  6. A Pharmacist maintains knowledge, skills and performance of high quality, up to date, evidence- based and relevant to the field of practice.

  7. A Pharmacist behaves with integrity and honesty and adheres to acceptable standards of personal and professional conduct.

  8. A pharmacist does not engage in any behavior or activity likely to bring the profession into disrepute. 

  9. A pharmacist provides the best possible health care for the community in partnership with other health professions.
